# Slow Mining [](https://modrinth.com/datapack/slow-mining) [](https://discord.gg/xS85W48Cb3) ## Overview This datapack **reduces the mining speed** of players by **75%** (*minecraft:block_break_speed = 0.25*). **Slow Mining** makes the **early game** and **late game** of a world or server **more realistic**. ## Configuration To configure how fast players break blocks, unzip the datapack, open the folder, and navigate to: **`data/slowmining/function/tick.mcfunction`** Open the file and edit the value on the **2nd line** of code to customize the mining speed. ## ⚠️ IMPORTANT If you want to **disable or remove** the datapack, run: **`/function slowmining:disable`**, otherwise the datapack will **not disable correctly**. ## Help Run **`/function slowmining:help`** for help, or join our **[Discord](https://discord.gg/xS85W48Cb3)**:
