# Rise with the chickens! Sanctuary is a personal, self-hosted Minecraft modpack. It is a living pack: unstable, unbalanced, unfinished, and constantly changing. Instead of trying to modernize Minecraft in a clean or polished way, Sanctuary asks a different question: what if we started from old Minecraft and pushed it in another direction? Sanctuary is not meant to be a perfectly balanced experience. It is meant to be explored, modified, broken, repaired, and shared.
