## About Lumora is a lightweight Fabric visual and performance modpack for players who want Minecraft to feel cleaner, smoother and more polished without turning it into a heavy overhaul. It keeps the vanilla experience at its core while improving the things you notice every time you play: animations, atmosphere, particles, rendering, lighting, sound, interface details, quality of life and overall performance. Lumora comes preconfigured with Fresh Animations, a curated resource pack stack, atmospheric enhancements, a round minimap, useful interface improvements and a carefully tuned optimization setup so you can import the pack and start playing without spending time configuring everything yourself. ## What Lumora changes Lumora focuses on improving Minecraft rather than replacing it. The pack combines performance mods, rendering improvements, animation support, atmospheric effects, resource packs and small quality-of-life features while keeping the original gameplay recognizable. Expect smoother rendering, improved entity animations, dynamic lighting, richer environmental effects, more responsive interfaces, enhanced inventory interaction, improved sound feedback and a cleaner overall visual style. No large progression overhaul. No massive content expansion. The optimization stack includes Sodium, Lithium, FerriteCore, C2ME, ImmediatelyFast, ModernFix, ScalableLux, Entity Culling, More Culling, Dynamic FPS, Krypton, Ksyxis, Fast Noise, Particle Core and other targeted performance improvements. Together, these mods improve rendering, memory usage, lighting updates, chunk processing, world loading, particles, networking and background resource usage. The defaults are tuned for a balance between image quality, responsiveness and performance rather than aggressively lowering visual settings. Default performance settings include: * 12 chunk render distance * 8 chunk simulation distance * 75% entity render distance * Decreased particles * Unlimited FPS * VSync disabled * Dynamic lighting set to Fast mode * Shaders disabled by default Hardware-specific settings such as resolution, fullscreen mode, FOV and mouse sensitivity are left to the player. ## Visuals and animations Fresh Animations is combined with Entity Model Features and Entity Texture Features to provide more expressive vanilla-style entity animations. FA+ All Extensions, FA+ Player and additional compatible animation packs expand the animation setup without changing Minecraft's overall art direction. The visual stack is further enhanced with ATMOSPHERICS, Wakes, Make Bubbles Pop, ItemPhysic Lite, Inventory Particles and a curated selection of resource packs. These additions improve biome atmosphere, fog, skies, clouds, water movement, particles, item presentation and small environmental details while keeping the experience recognizably Minecraft. OptiGUI, Animatica and resource pack compatibility tools are also included to support custom interfaces, animated textures and the broader visual resource pack stack. ## Interface and quality of life Lumora 1.2.0 expands its quality-of-life setup with improvements designed to stay useful without getting in the way. BetterF3 provides a cleaner and more readable debug interface, while Better Advancements and Better Statistics Screen improve commonly used menus. Better Mount HUD, Held Item Info, Immersive Hotbar, Item Borders and Status Effect Bars provide clearer information during normal gameplay. Easy Shulker Boxes improves portable storage interaction by allowing shulker box contents to be managed more conveniently from the inventory. The goal is not to redesign Minecraft's interface, but to make everyday interactions cleaner and more informative. ## Sound and atmosphere Lumora adds subtle environmental feedback to make the world feel more alive. Presence Footsteps expands movement sounds across different surfaces, while Wakes adds water movement, splashes and wakes around entities and boats. ATMOSPHERICS adjusts environmental elements such as fog, skies, clouds and haze based on the biome, adding more variety without requiring a shaderpack. These effects are intended to complement vanilla rather than overpower it. ## Shaders Lumora 1.2.0 does **not** bundle or enable a shaderpack by default. Iris remains included for shader compatibility, so you can install and use your preferred compatible shaderpack whenever you want. Leaving shaders optional gives Lumora a lighter baseline, improves compatibility across different hardware and avoids forcing a specific visual style or GPU workload on every installation. Players who prefer shaders can simply add their preferred Iris-compatible shaderpack separately. ## Default setup Lumora includes a small number of intentional defaults to keep the first launch consistent: * GUI Scale: 3 * Narrator: Off * Music: 5% * Other audio categories: 50% * Render Distance: 12 chunks * Simulation Distance: 8 chunks * Entity Distance: 75% * FPS Limit: Unlimited * VSync: Off * Dynamic Lighting: Fast * Shaders: Off Personal preferences such as FOV, sensitivity, language, resolution and fullscreen mode are not intentionally forced. ## Compatibility Lumora 1.2.0 is built for **Minecraft 26.2 with Fabric**. The pack is primarily client-focused, with most visual, animation, interface and performance features running on the client. However, Lumora is **not strictly client-only**. Visual Workbench, Easy Shulker Boxes and Packet Fixer require installation on both the client and server for their full functionality. If you are joining a server that does not use these mods, you may need to disable the corresponding mods depending on the server setup. Some multiplayer servers may also have their own rules regarding minimaps, radar features, shaders or other client modifications. Always check the rules of the server you are joining. ## Philosophy Lumora is not designed to completely transform Minecraft. It is designed to make vanilla Minecraft feel smoother, softer, more responsive and more visually complete while avoiding heavy content bloat. Lumora 1.2.0 puts a stronger emphasis on performance, atmosphere, interface polish and useful quality-of-life improvements while keeping shaders optional.
