# Hide Names Fabric Mod (Minecraft 1.21) Hide Names is a simple and fun Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21 that removes player name tags. Now you can play hide-and-seek with your friends on servers or LAN without any visible name tags! **Please note:** Only player name tags are removed. Compasses, maps, and other tracking items remain fully functional. Fabric API is required. Tested with: `fabric-api-0.102.0+1.21`. ## Download - **GitHub:** Visit the releases section and download the latest release (e.g. `HideNames-Fabric-1.21-alpha-1.0.jar`). - **Modrinth:** Also available for download here. ## Planned Features 1. **Player Tag Visibility Toggle:** - Admins can enable or disable the visibility of player tags in multiplayer mode. 2. **Default Visibility Settings:** - By default, player names are visible. - Names will be hidden if there is an obstruction (e.g., a block) between the player and the observer (note: this does not apply to transparent objects). 3. **Armor Enchantment:** - An enchantment can be applied to armour (helmets) that hides the player's name regardless of any obstructions. 4. **Go fully server-side.** ### Features that MAY be added (depends on the vote results) 1. **Skin obfuscation:** - A special type of armour that completely conceals the player's skin, including the face—think of ninja suits. 2. **A name change:** - A non-craftable, single-use item (similar to the nametag) that can temporarily change username to a random/selected name (work in progress). _These features are not planned yet.
