latest version has chunky, run these commands to pre gen chunks and prevent lag
/chunky center 0 0
/chunky radius 2r
/chunky start
and also use the JVM Argument i use
-Xms1024M -Xmx2500M -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:G1NewSizePercent=20 -XX:G1ReservePercent=15 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=20 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=1M -XX:+DisableExplicitGC
