# Recipes  --- ## Isn't chainmail armor more expensive than iron armor with these recipes? By default, crafting chainmail armor directly from chains costs more iron than standard iron armor. To fix this balance, download **[Craft More Chains](https://modrinth.com/datapack/craft-more-chains)**, a mod/datapack that gives you 2 chains from the chain recipe instead of 1.
