# Better Update Suppression
## How to Use?
1. Download `BetterUpdateSuppression-1.0.1jar` and place it in the mods folder
2. Use the command to give yourself the update suppression block
```
/give @s better_update_suppression:update_suppression_block 64
```
or craft using 1 detector and 8 redstone dust
3. Build the structure before performing update suppression (using a nether portal as an example)
4. Place the `Update Suppression Block` directly adjacent to the block that needs to be suppressed
5. Right-click the `Update Suppression Block`; when the center gray part turns red, it is activated
6. Break the obsidian! This will trigger update suppression, and the nether portal will not break
7. Right-click the `Update Suppression Block` again to deactivate it; the center red part will turn back to gray
8. Break the `Update Suppression Block`
9. Repeat the process to remove all the obsidian (accidentally missed one)
## Important Notes
1. Update suppression can cause server crashes at best and world corruption at worst. **Back up your save before using it!!! Extremely important!!!**
2. How to avoid server/world crashes?
- Enable update suppression crash protection in carpet mod
- Do not place two `Update Suppression Blocks` directly adjacent to each other, even if they are not activated
- Operate slowly and carefully, do not rush
